Eyebrow Micropigmentation Post Procedure Care

Micropigmentation (semi-permanent makeup) procedures are affected by the “canvas” (your skin) that they are performed on. Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery and other procedures, and age of skin all contribute to fading. The initial application is always applied conservatively because every person’s skin is different and the final color can only be precisely determined and adjusted during a follow-up appointment after the initial application has fully healed. Because of this, the micropigmentation process is not complete after the initial procedure. In all cases, a follow-up appointment is required approximately 4-6 weeks after your initial application to fine tune and ensure the best result.

Though rare, infection is possible. If you see signs of infection such as persistent increased redness or swelling, fever, drainage, or oozing, contact your doctor immediately.

  • Passed 2 hours after the micropigmentation procedure, gently wash the área to clean the ointment aplied. Pat it dry gently with a clean paper towel.

  • When the area starts to flake, leave it. Do not pick, peel or pull on the skin.

  • Wash your face and the área around the eyebrows carefuly in order to avoid soaking/removing the scabs.

  • Avoid sweating such as from vigorous exercise for 1 week post-procedure.

  • For at least one week post-procedure or until healing is complete (whichever is longer):

    • ○  Keep your hands clean and avoid touching the affected area(s).

    • ○  Do not scrub or pick treated areas.

    • ○  Do not use peroxide or Neosporin on treated areas.

    • ○  Do not expose area to direct sun or to tanning beds.

  • Avoid eyebrow tinting within 1 month after the procedure.

  •  Avoid Retin-A, moisturizers, glycolic acids, exfoliants and anti-aging products at all times (not just during healing) on all micropigmented areas. These can cause pigments to fade and lighten prematurely.

  • Pigments will slowly fade over time according to one’s metabolism, skin type, sun exposure, medication, facial surgery, and smoking. Schedule maintenance visits as needed to keep it looking fresh.

  • Periodic touch ups will ensure longer lasting results.

Eyebrows healing schedule

Day 1-2: The eyebrows are approximately 25 to 30% darker and bolder in width than they will be when healed. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear heavier in size than you desire; this is all part of the process. Can be some swelling and redness witch usually don’t last more than 3 days.

Day 3: Eyebrows start to itch, DO NOT SCRATCH.

Day 4 to 14: The skin begins to exfoliate, what will cause excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and narrower appearance will result. The time of the exfoliation process vary in between client but can be some scabs stay attached to the existing hair what delays the complete natural peeling of the area. It’s critical to follow the after care instructions until all the scabs slough off naturally.

Day 15 to 29: After the scabs flakes, the eyebrows appear much softer and grayer for a few days until the skin completely heals and the pigment stabilizes.

Day 30: New skin healed over the pigmented area and final results with softer appearance will be achieved.

Eyeliner Micropigmentation Healing Schedule

If you’ve never had micropigmentation before, there are a lot of unknowns. One of the most common questions we’re asked is what to expect during the healing process. While every person is different and some heal more quickly or slowly than others, here’s generally what to expect.

Temporary side effects from micropigmentation include but are not limited to: redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches and tenderness.

You should expect to lose approximately 1/3 of the initial color during the healing process. We have selected the optimal pigments for you with this in mind. In approximately six days it may appear too light. After about 10 days, the color will show more. It will appear softer when completely healed.

Day Effect

1

The eyes will be swollen and sore, like you have been crying, with a heavier eye makeup look. For the first 3-4 days, the color is darker than it will appear when healed.
Apply a light gloss of the ointment given sparingly to the treated areas with a clean fingertip. Too much ointment makes the swollen area too wet. Use the ointment in the morning and evening, but don’t over use. Clean the eyes In the evening with clean water and a tissue.

2

The eyelids are swollen for a few hours after waking up, still with heavier makeup look.
When you wake up, refresh the treated area with a compress. Tissue dry and re-apply ointment. The eyes will be swollen and sore but will get better throughout the day. In the evening, gently cleanse with cool water, tissue dry, and re-apply ointment.

3

Swelling decreases but is not gone entirely. There is a tight feeling. The top layers of skin begin to lift away. The soreness will become less as the treated area begins to exfoliate. A rough texture appears on the skin.

4

There is a pinching feeling. Some itching is normal as the skin begins to flake. When the eyeliner area begins to exfoliate, do not pick at it! It will flake off with the movement of the eye.

5

Color is somewhat grayish and will take a few more days to clarify to full color. The pigmented area begins to shrink and soften in size and color over the next few days.
The color will appear a bit “frosty,” but will clarify in a few days.

6

The color has lightened from its initial overly-dark appearance. For the next few days, the color may now be lighter than what the final color will be.

10

The final color begins to stabilize and show through. The color will continue to soften as the healing process completes.

Lipcolor post-procedure care

1-If you have ever had Herpes Simplex outbreaks(cold sore) double the dose of the prescription given by your physician at the procedure day and keep with the use of the medicine for the next 7 days.

2-Ice pack applications are recommended in order to reduce the swelling.

4-Apply moisturizer as much as it possible, more moisturized better going to hills. A new confection of Vaseline or Aquaphor (applied with a clean Q-tip for the first 4 days) is recommended to be used for one week, and then switch to chap stick or lipstick with an SPF of 15 or greater, as the sun tends to fade lip color quickly.

Important to observe after treatment

-Don’t scrub or pick treated area

-In order to avoid to traumatized more your lips, don't open your mouth excessively when laughing or talking during the first week. Cutting food in small pieces are recommended.

-Don't eat/drink excessively hot, spicy or salty food/drinks.

-Avoid sun exposure, saunas and swimming.

-Don’t apply Peroxide or Neosporin.

Lipcolor Healing Schedule

Day1: Swelling, tender, heavy thick lipstick look with an orange/brick color effect.

Day2: Slight swelling, intense color.

Day3: Less swelling, thicker texture, sore, hot feeling before exfoliation.

Day4: Exfoliation begins, very chapped lips. Sloughing off/peeling of dry skin with pigment.

Day5: Very chapped, almost finished with first chapping stage. Appears like most of color has sloughed off.

Day6: A soft color begins to appear

Day7-30: Different fazes of pigment stabilization, first disappears and after few days the color “blooms” from within more and more each day as the new skin heals completely.

Day30: Healing complete; the color you see is the color you have. It’s not uncommon to lose up to 70% of the color on the first application. Your lips will remain a bit dry for a month or 2. Use a good balm and they will return to normal, but with the full color.
